Frankston Steel Supplies is a second generation family owned business, that was established in 1988. With 30 years in the steel industry the Robson family began manufacturing timber post supports in the home garage quickly growing into requiring a factory.



Manufacturing and distributed their post support’s throughout Victorias hardware stores for over 15 years, supplying 3000-4000 units per month at their peak it was during this period, Barry made the significant decision to expand the business by leaving the comforts of full time employment and applying his 30 years of knowledge and experience to focused on introducing steel supplies and structural steel fabrication services to Frankston – Frankston Steel Supplies was started. The company has steadily grown to now having the outstanding reputation it has today.

Jason Robson has been involved with the company since its inception. As a 17-year-old, he actively assisted his father in various capacities, including purchasing stock, sourcing equipment, and contributing to the establishment of their Frankston factory located at 41 New Street.

Jason’s commitment to the family business continued, and in 2007, he took over the reins from his father, following in his footsteps, who was now operating in a larger factory in Seaford. Jason further developing business operations by using smarter technology and commissioning larger crane trucks with far greater reach.

To keep up with customer demand a decision was made in 2015 to relocate the steel fabrication workshop to a new premises in Carrum Downs, where workshop machinery and equipment were upgraded to streamline efficiencies and output.   

Jason has an extremely high expectation of all works carried out at Frankston Steel Supplies, and this could not be done if it wasn’t for the superb team behind him. The expert staff at both sites have decades of industry knowledge and experience, it is no wonder the business has been going strong for over 35 years. Family matters at Frankston Steel Supplies and each site, Seaford & Carrum Downs is a true testament to family first as not only will you find the 2nd generation working hard, Gen 3 are now shaping the future.
